Types of Deadlocks for Doors
Hook bolt deadlocks are used on narrow storefronts made of aluminum sliding doors to increase security and strength of locks. These locks are keyed on both sides for greater flexibility in access control.
To accurately determine the size of a new lock for your door, first determine the depth of the case (or backset). This is the distance from the edge of the door to the centre of the latch hole.
Tubular Latch

A tubular latch is an rectangular steel casing that has an latch bolt and an encased latch follower that is spring-loaded (also known as a striker). The primary difference between cylinder and mortise locks is that only a particular key can open these types of locks. The pins are secured by springs and pins of different sizes. Once the key that is correct has been used and the pins align themselves, allowing the cylinder to rotate. This allows the latch bolts to retract and allow the door to be opened.
When the wrong key is used, the pins aren't aligned correctly, which stops the cylinder from moving. It is essential to use the right key to gain access to your office or home.
The cylinder is situated inside the door's body and is connected to the operating trim using a square or a half-round extension. Key-Locked Latch

A strike plate is also available. It is typically connected to the door frame as well as the jamb. It is fitted with an opening through which the bolt can be carried from the cylinder into the lock. This is often utilized in conjunction with deadbolts for additional security.
Then, there's the cylinder, which is pins that are aligned with the key's point to keep it from turning.
